Dear Shawl Friends,

It's that time again!  Here's a quick reminder that our next meeting is NEXT
Tuesday, August 9, at 7 p.m. in the activity building, room 101-2.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for
this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

For many, August is a time of year when summer vacations are usually over.
The company has gone home. And there aren't any holidays (except in areas,
like Plano, where schools start in August--then parents have a holiday from
the minute-by-minute child-tending!  I once saw a commercial that showed a
parent skipping down the store aisles, collecting back-to-school supplies
and singing what we usually think of as a Christmas song:  "It's the MOST
wonderful time of the year!")

Find a nice, comfy spot -- a hammock under the trees or a couch under the
air conditioner -- and focus on funny things.  Pick up your needles or
hooks, grab a skein of yarn, put in a funny DVD or kick back with a good
silly audio novel. [I've been getting a kick out of some of the knitting
mystery series that are floating around thru some of my Knit Wit buddies!]
Treat yourself to a laugh fest.  Did you know that it takes forty-three
muscles to frown but only seventeen to smile.  So, in the August heat,
conserve energy.  Turn off your worries and troubles and turn on your smile!

Laughter is a shock absorber that eases the blows of life.  So..let's laugh!
  :-)

Hope to see you at the meeting!

Peace and Happiness,
Tish
